Remember this gorgeous mama from her maternity session back in May? I met up with her again yesterday to photograph her sweet baby Sadie. She is just 9 days old. But add on to that the two weeks she was overdue in her Mama’s tummy, and I guess you could say she was already 23 days old! She is quite the little chunker and oh sooo beautiful with all that dark hair. It was so nice to hold a baby again, and enjoy the newness. She wasn’t much up for the glam shots, and enjoyed being snuggly in her mama’s arms instead, but we did manage to capture her sweetness for a few beautiful memories for mom and dad. Enjoy Tara and Loren. You both make wonderful, loving parents!

October 13, 2009This was my first session with twins, and they happen to belong to my cousin Don and his wife Fei. My heart melted when I first saw and held them, and to get the chance to photograph them, I could not have been in a better place at a better time! It was amazing to work with two little ones who love to be close to each other naturally. It was almost easier to work with both together than one at a time. Funny huh? These two were 3 weeks old when I spent the day with them, although they were born about 5 weeks early. So, they were still very much in their sleepy newborn stage, and oh so tiny. Katelyn, who was born first (this is going to be a big deal when they get older! HAHA), was not quite 5 lbs and Kadyn was not quite 7 lbs as you see them here. Thank you both Don and Fei for letting me play and capture these images that I know you will cherish forever. HUG those babies for me one more time.

October 1, 2009This sweet angel was definetely sent from heaven. Beautiful and perfect. I got to photograph her at 19 days old. While she wasn’t up to some of my usual poses, she took to just laying there and being cute, pretty good! I’m lucky because this sweetie is my neighbor and I get to watch her grow and blossom into a toddler, girl, and eventually a lovely young lady. Thank you Nikki and Paul for allowing me to capture pure cuteness in your baby girl. Like everyone says, they don’t stay this little for long. Enjoy her!

sweet baby boy | Esther Pederson Photography
September 4, 2009I invited my friend over last week for a visit/mini-session with her little guy. You may remember her, whose maternity I shot last month. Well, it was fabulous to hold such a tiny baby again. I think all parents with children forget just how tiny they once were. I loved cuddling with her little Granite; what a sweet baby! We didn’t have much time, as I flew out of town that night, but we did get some precious memories captured. Thank you Debbie for letting me play! Congratulations again to you and Lahka. He is perfect.

sitting | Esther Pederson Photography
April 24, 2009I just know he’s going to thank me for this one when he’s older. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want a photo of themselves like this! Well, no matter what he thinks, I’m his mom, and I think it’s just adorable! He just starting sitting up on his own the last couple of days and now its his favorite thing to do. He’s rediscovered his toes and tried eating those a few times while sitting up. Man, I wish I was that flexible! He’s also getting more mobile, so that means for me, I’m going to have to increase my shutter speed to capture nice sharp photos of him. No more 1/125 for him! He’s graduated to 1/250! Is it bad that I’m measuring his growth progression in shutter speeds? Here’s my little guy, getting so big already.

little man | Esther Pederson Photography
April 20, 2009Three and a half weeks after his arrival, I finally got to photograph this hansome little man! You may remember his mommy and daddy from one of my previous posts (A&J) He was so much fun to photograph, and what fun to go from start (in the womb) to finish (after birth). He gave his daddy quite a scare a couple of times during the “no-diaper” shots. Who would have known babies do that anyway?! LOL. But we got through and James you were a great sport, thank you! Some beautiful moments were captured in the end and that is what I wanted as a gift for you both.

Color or BW? | Esther Pederson Photography
April 15, 2009Lately, I’ve been loving a lot of BW photos. But this one I just couldn’t choose, if it looked better in color or BW? So, I’m posting both….what the heck. It’s my blog, I can post what I want to! Aern’t his teeth cute? He really is sweet. (What? Crying? There’s no one crying in the background….it’s just your imagination…) A little later today I have the priveledge of photographing my friends’ 3 week old baby boy, so stay tuned for some sneak peaks of him in the near future. Hopefully you won’t be disappointed! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone. xo.

6 months old! | Esther Pederson Photography
March 26, 2009I know it seems like he was just born yesterday (doesn’t that sound so cliche?), but he is already 6 months old. OK, well…I’m a few days early. It’s 1 week away, but this session will have to do for his 6 month photos since I don’t get this quiet time with him very often. Sienna was napping, and he was wide awake, so what else to do but to shoot some photos! I always have something in mind, he is like pliable clay…He will do anything for me at this point! I’m lucky to get a smile out of Sienna, so I am definetely taking advantage of this time I have with Levi. Here he is!

And of course, here’s my beauty after she woke up from her nap. She’s going to be a real charmer this girl. Just like her mommy was.
I love mush… | Esther Pederson Photography
March 20, 2009We are in the mushing spirit up here in Nome. The Iditarod dog mushers are steadily pulling into our city to complete their 1000 plus mile journey from Willow. We love mushing so much we even eat mush! Our boy has recently added rice cereal to his diet, and if he’s lucky he even has apple sauce or pears mixed in. When Sienna was a baby, pretty much everything from her first pooh, to her first words, steps and everything in between was documented. I realized in the last few days that my camera has missed out on a few of these firsts for Levi. Because of that I wanted to at least document this….his cute mushy face. I know he’ll thank me for this when he is a teenager!

And because I am a proud mama, I have to include this one too. I {heart} him!
