Joseph…senior 2013 | Esther Pederson Photography

May 14th, 2013

I’m baaaaack! It’s been a good break from my blog, but I feel like I’ve let myself get a little too comfortable behind the scenes. It’s not that nothing happened all winter, its just that I needed a little hiatus from the business side of my life, and a good break it was! Anyway, my prime photography season is fast approaching, and seniors are usually my first of the year. This year was no different. This session with Joe was a good way to ease back into my work. He was so easy going and good with direction and handsome too! There really wasn’t any more that I could have asked for…except maybe some warmer temperatures. :) We froze ourselves getting these shots, the wind was just enough to bite at our skin, but in the end, it was all worth it. Thanks for a great day of shooting Joe! Congratulations on reaching this milestone in your life and good luck in all you do! Your future is bright.blog4

Diana…senior 2013 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 17th, 2012

My heart is happy! Every time a senior calls or emails me to book a session, life is good. Diana and I got together on the perfect evening. The light was magical, the wind light, and the locations beautiful. I wish I could share them all here now, but I will save some goodness for your gallery Diana! Enjoy your sneak peak. I had an awesome time capturing your senior images, which are nothing less than striking. Talk soon!

Where is time flying off to? It feels weird to type out senior ’2013′!! Either that, or I am getting old! :) Well, as the years go on, my seniors just get more beautiful and fun! Seriously, I don’t think I ever have this much fun on any other type of session. Girls being girls, goofing off, laughing, loving every minute! Miranda was full of energy, and was a complete natural. Of course, being this gorgeous doesn’t hurt either! Thanks for booking with me Miranda, your images turned out flawless. Have a wonderful year ahead and see you in May!

Brandi…senior 2013 | Esther Pederson Photography

July 31st, 2012

Senior sessions, hands down. These are my favorite favorite! Beautiful willing models who know how to work it. I love how much fun we have, and both not really wanting it to end! And I love it when the weather just seems to work out perfectly. Nome weather is constantly changing, and is usually different from day to day. Brandi was only in town for a short while, and the weather cooperated beautifully for us. Well, what else can I say…Brandi is blessed with natural beauty and has a sweet, fun personality. Best wishes in your senior year at Service High Brandi! Thank you for choosing me for your portrait experience, you totally rocked it!!

Quinn…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

May 14th, 2012

I’m not going to say much, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but I do want to say that I had another fun session with a 2012 senior. QUINN! I had the chance to photograph his twin sister Caitlin last fall for her senior session. And it took a few months to convince Quinn that he had to get his glamour shots done too. :) I don’t think it was all that bad either huh Quinn! He was willing, all natural and I just love the smiles we managed out of him. (Thanks Caitlin for all those funny stories!! HAHA!) Enjoy and I’m looking forward to watching you both walk across the stage in a couple weeks. Your parents are no doubt very proud of you both.

Jens…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

Ahh, my first client of the year. How exciting to start up my season again, and with my favorite type of session, seniors!! Photographing seniors always gives me a rejuvination for life. Their perspectives and positive attitude for the future is so refreshing. Jens was no exception. What a talented and well mannered young man, surely to be a success in whatever he pursues. Enjoy these Jens and family; I had a lot of fun cruising Nome with you all to get these amazing images, especially that last set. Fabulous.

Kacie…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

November 29th, 2011

Winter time brings a lot of things to mind. Crafts, the wood fire, holiday meals and treats, shopping, family. You know…all those staying inside activities. But a few days ago….on a clear and beautiful winter day, I got to do a session with this beautiful flower! Really, she was like a brilliant bloom set against a blanket of white. It was cold…yes, but she did an amazing job. I had to remind her that we were actually in Hawaii, and it wasn’t cold…we were warm! (Well, I was warm, all bundled up in snowpants, bunny boots and layers of sweaters!) LOL…I’m not sure if she went along with it, or if she just smiled and thought I was crazy. Probably the latter. :) Kacie and I had planned this session a few months prior to Thanksgiving. She attends a boarding school in Washington state, and comes “home” to Nome on occassion for holidays or summer breaks. So, it was an honor that she chose me to do her senior portraits, when no doubt, there are many many talented and amazing photogs right in her area! I’ll say these are unique, that’s for sure, and worth the small price of standing in the bitter cold! I had a fun fun time with you Kacie, and thank you so much for your patience with my ideas to get these photos! More to come. Can’t wait! Enjoy the rest of your senior year pretty lady.

Brian…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 30th, 2011

Sometimes it takes a while for people to get comfortable in front of the camera. I know, because I am one of those people. I am much better at being behind the lens than in front of it. That’s kind of how my session started out with Brian. But as we got into it, his shell started to crack, and some of my “jokes” and things I said to make him smile and relax started working. He loosened up and by the end, it was like hanging out with an old buddy of mine. We had a lot to say and even had a few things in common. I really admire his positive outlook on life. He moved up here from Texas a little over a year ago with his family. That takes courage, especially in the last two years of high school. He loves it here, even the snow! He has big plans for his future, which include following in his Mom’s footsteps and going on to medical school. Wow, how refreshing and encouraging to hear of a young person with such big aspirations. Have a great year “Douggie”, and it was so fun to meet you and hang out for a while!

Caitlin…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 21st, 2011

I was stoked when Caitlin approached me about doing her senior photos. I knew even before we met up that she was going to rock her session. And she did just that. She is gorgeous, funny, and has a sweet bubbly personality. Her aunt, our chauffeur, had some awesome ideas for locations. Thanks Shari! Anyway, I think these images capture the true inner and outer beauty of another smart and strong young lady in our community. Good luck and enjoy your last year girl! It was so fun to work with you, obviously I didn’t want it to end! But I guess three hours of camera time will do, for now. :)

Nathan…senior 2012 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 13th, 2011

Nathan’s Mom stopped me in town and asked me to do some senior photos for her son. First of all, I was honored and verrry excited about it! And second of all, I had to ask her who it was, because I couldn’t believe that her “baby” Nathan was already a senior in high school! We watched Nathan’s brother Jesse play basketball all through high school, and the last few years, have watched Nathan as well. He is an amazing athlete, and such a great person as well. I can tell his parents raised him right! We took the photos practically in his backyard a few miles from town. He showed me around, and we hopped around the tundra and in the creeks to get some amazing shots. I loved his ideas, and his smile almost knocked me over a few times. What a handsome young guy. I had so much fun romping around Dexter with you Nathan! I hope it was worth it for you as well. I can’t wait to see your Mom’s smile when I see her next!
