Rena…NBHS senior 2015 | Esther Pederson Photography

October 22nd, 2014

Rena was my final senior this season. What a great way to finish my fall too! I enjoyed my time with her and she couldn’t have made my job easier. She was so giggly and fun. She said she was nervous, but I didn’t see one ounce of that during our session or in the photos. What a natural beauty! The colors of the tundra completely complimented her outfits, skin and hair. And her smile just totally topped off the wow factor. I had to include one serious one though, because I think she totally nailed it. She looks like she’s straight out a magazine in that last one….I mean, WOW, it’s one of my favorites for sure! Thanks for your time and attention Rena!! I loved hanging out with you and the big sis! :)Blog1

Alex…NBHS senior 2015 | Esther Pederson Photography

October 7th, 2014

Alex. Another all around great young guy I got to work with this fall! His Mama scheduled him early this summer and wanted to make sure we got them done. I just couldn’t believe she was scheduling Alex, because I was in disbelief that he was already a senior! Living in a small town has it’s benefits, one of them is getting to know students and athletes and watching them grow up. We’ve been watching Alex play basketball and wrestle for years now. And I just couldn’t believe he is already nearing the end of high school. Anyway, the best part of his session was his location choice. Beautiful Solomon! Distance shoots aren’t always possible but I love it when they work out because it gives the photos a whole different look from the normal. As if looking handsome wasn’t enough, he took time out of his weekend at camp to get these done. I mean, what guy would rather be at camp, hunting birds and being all rugged. :) Probably all guys right?! Well, even if it was an inconvenience, he surely didn’t show it. Thanks for the patience while waiting for this sneak peak to surface. I will be working on your gallery images this week! Enjoy…until then. Blog1

Zulai…South High Senior 2015 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 25th, 2014

This is Zulai. Zulai flew in from Anchorage for the weekend to get her senior photos done. How cool is that? I feel honored and extremely giddy because not only is she beautiful, she’s also super cool with a great personality. We had a lot of fun riding in and around Nome in her Mom’s truck, super crammed full of clothes, accessories, boots, and my camera gear. We talked about her senior plans for this year, and also her future goals. My oh my, she has it ALL lined out in detail. :) Her family is super proud of her accomplishments so far and I know things will continue to look bright for her future. Have a great year, Zulai and good luck with basketball this year!! Thanks for choosing Esther Pederson Photography for capturing your senior year memories!Blog1

Klay…senior 2015 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 16th, 2014

I love fall sessions. The colors and lighting are almost always perfect. Not to mention, fall means I get to work my favorite sessions….SENIORS! Klay made my job easy, he was both casual and so natural. I hardly had to coach him on posing, he was a dream! He’s sweet too…not much more to say. I even may have went a little far when I texted his Mom after the session saying I was in love with him. LOL….(in a total non-creepy, photographer way). 😉 Enjoy your senior year, Klay. Rock that basketball court this year…looking forward to those home games! Blog1

Adelaine…senior 2014 | Esther Pederson Photography

April 2nd, 2014

Well I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t be looking this fabulous and beautiful if I were put in front of a camera on a cold, windy and dreary Alaskan day. Come on, even I thought it was impossible, but boy was I wrong! Addy was amazing!! We were all cold but this girl was naturally flawless even in the conditions we were in. I am so impressed! And I am so happy we were able to pull this one off. I had so much fun with you and Kerry (too bad Senora wasn’t there…ahh, I can just imagine that photo in my head). Oh well, next time!! I’ve enjoyed watching you on both the volleyball and basketball courts throughout the years. Your athletic talents will be missed for sure. Enjoy these precious last weeks of school lady and congratulations on all of your accomplishments!Blog5

Jake…senior 2014 | Esther Pederson Photography

March 31st, 2014

My first spring senior! It’s amazing how fast time flies, and now graduation is just right around the corner. What an exciting time for a lot of kids, and parents! Jake is my good friend Bonnie’s son. Her Sonny Boy! Already a senior and so handsome. What an awesome client to have. I enjoyed our time together and Jake couldn’t have made my job easier. So laid back and willing to try anything! These images turned out better than I had even hoped. Congratulations to the Piscoya/Stettenbenz family on raising such a well rounded young man. And most of all, congratulations Jake, I know there are many people who are proud of all your accomplishments! Best of wishes to you.Blog3

Allaryce’s pageant photos | Esther Pederson Photography

October 9th, 2013

This was a new request for me, pageant headshots (for Nationals, nonetheless)!  I was super excited when Allaryce’s mom contacted me to get some photos done for her upcoming pageant and photogenic competition that is being held in Florida next month!  We had planned on doing them all outdoors, but of course our lovely Nome weather interfered a bit with that idea so most of our shots were done indoors.  But as luck would have it, they had the perfect space in their home that had great light!  I couldn’t go home without at least trying to do a few outdoor shots, either, so despite the cold and wind we spent a few minutes around our neighborhood. As soon as we got out there, I was in photographer heaven!  The colors, the light, the model …pretty much everything but the cold and wind were perfect.  Allaryce was a true beauty queen and had a fun and positive attitude and smiles throughout her session with me.  I have no doubt you will do great in your upcoming competition girl!  Good luck and keep aspiring to do great things!Blog1

Ariana…senior 2014 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 26th, 2013

Is there anything sweeter or more adorable and fun than a high school senior? Ok, maybe a puppy, but puppies don’t sit still and do what I tell them for a photo! :) hehe. Ari was TONS of fun, had an amazing style sense, and best of all, we got to shoot in a totally unique location at her request. This was a dream session complete with my own personal assistant and stylist, Dylan. Thank you Dylan for coming along! Like most of my seniors, Ari has built in talent and drive. After all, we took these photos about an hour after her volleyball meet was over! Ain’t no thang!! I couldn’t have asked for much more, it was a fun fun shoot. Good luck with the rest of your season Ari, and I am definitely looking forward to watching you on that basketball court!! Congrats on your senior year gal. Enjoy it! Blog1

Hannah…senior 2014 | Esther Pederson Photography

September 23rd, 2013

Hello, gorgeous! We had tons of fun on Hannah’s session. I was actually worried about the weather from the get go since we started off with sprinkles. BUT, it ended up being a nice evening with beautiful light. Annnd, as soon as we wrapped it up 3 hours later (literally, as soon as we closed the car doors), there was a huge downpour. It was crazy! We got to shoot at Hannah’s family’s camp just outside of Nome, which made it extra special. Surprise, Mom and Dad!! :) I told Hannah not to tell you but I’m sure the beans were spilled a while ago. LOL. I thought it would be a neat surprise since they had no idea. Anyway, everything worked out, and I am so happy and thrilled with Hannah’s images. First off, she’s beautiful, but not only that, she is one of those students who I know has proud parents! She is an excellent cross country runner, has a plan for her future, and to top it off, a great personality–funny gal! I am familiar with her family, I got to shoot her twin brother and sisters senior photos a couple years back. And I thought to myself, as she contacted me, a senior already??! How time flies!! Enjoy your preview Hannah, and yes, the gallery images are coming. Thank you so much for your continued patience! Good luck at Regionals this coming weekend (Rosa too-thanks for all your help on the session), I will be cheering loud and proud! Blog5

Mary…senior 2014 | Esther Pederson Photography

August 16th, 2013

Mary! What a fun gal! I loved our time together, and I’m SO glad we snuck in a session before she left for her next adventure! Speaking of adventures, Mary spent her entire summer in Canada at a canoeing camp! How fun is that!?? And to top off her wonderful summer, she just became a new auntie to a beautiful baby girl! I instantly felt a connection with her down to earth, easy going and funny personality. And best of all, she wasn’t afraid to try any of my wacky (awesome!!) ideas! :) Mary actually grew up in a small village outside of Nome (like me), and has traveled throughout her school years attending different educational institutions (I attended boarding school too!). This year, she will be in Anchorage attending college AND finishing her senior year in high school! Wow, smart, beautiful AND a hipster?!! lol. I know this year will be full of awesome memories, so I just want to wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors and I hope to see you again soon! Thanks again, Mary, for choosing me to capture this wonderful time in your life! You totally rocked it!Blog1
