I haven’t posted much lately because we have apparently contracted the blueberry fever. Symptoms include blue fingers and tongue, visions of blueberries upon closing our eyes, and coming home with gallons of berries that don’t even fit in our freezer. Hmm….sounds like heaven on earth to me! We have had a phenomenal blueberry year and it is so fun to be outdoors finding those amazing patches and just getting lost in them. Even our non-fruit loving dog has taken to the picking and eating of the berries. Here are some photos of our last adventure in the blueberry fields. Enjoy!

It seemed like just yesterday that I was doing maternity photos for my friend and neighbor Debbie. Now, her son is already one! It has been fun watching him grow this past year. Happy Birthday Mr. Granite! Thanks for a wonderful party. Your mom is the best cook!

Pinch me, I must be dreaming! No, seriously. I know I keep saying it, but this family was amazing. Fun, beautiful, creative, beautiful, hansome, funny, beautiful, and did I mention beautiful? I had a lot of fun last night. The Johnsons brought so much positive energy to the shoot it made my work easy. I almost feel guilty calling it work! How many people have this much fun at their jobs? (two thumbs up for me!) I looked out the window at 6:00pm (thinking our session is supposed to start at 7:30) and with the worst timing the fog and mist began quickly shrouding Nome. (No big shocker for a Nomeite, our weather can change on a dime) Thank God it left almost as quickly as it came. By 8:00 it started to look brighter, and by the time we were done shooting, the sun was out and the clouds were mostly gone from the sky. It was perfect. [Insert angels singing here] Enjoy your preview of photos Johnson family. And thanks again for a wonderfully fun evening. You guys are the best. No, really!

My good friend Darcy moved away the other day. I was really sad to see her leave, but I also have hopes for a brighter future for her and her beautiful daughter. So, before they left, we decided to do a little photo shoot around Nome. I photographed them back when little Allyson was just 6 or 7 months old, so it was fun to see how she had changed since then. She can walk, and pick berries, and smell flowers. So cute! She’s a busy little bee, and Darcy you are going to have your hands full the next few years! But, I also know that raising a little girl is so much fun, especially when they want to bake with you, or want you to fix their hair, or just snuggle. I hope you like the photos so far Darcy! I’m going to miss you. Make sure you reserve a nice guest spot (and a glass of wine) in your new house for us. We’ll surely come visit you soon, as this goodbye isn’t forever. xo.

The Jessup’s were a fun family to photograph. They are all so photogenic. Just look at mom and dad! Both lovely people who make amazingly gorgeous kids! Couple that with beautiful surroundings and a day that started out gray but ended in sunshine. Who could ask for anything more? Ahhh, magical! Of course, it was also packed full of energy, water fun, stick swords, sand, tundra flowers and oh, did I mention puppies? Yeah, it couldn’t have gotten any better. I got to meet Judith’s new puppy Trooper, who at 8 weeks old is a ball of fluff. What a cutie. Thanks Jessups for a great night. I hope you enjoy this sneak peak.

Remember this gorgeous mama from her maternity session back in May? I met up with her again yesterday to photograph her sweet baby Sadie. She is just 9 days old. But add on to that the two weeks she was overdue in her Mama’s tummy, and I guess you could say she was already 23 days old! She is quite the little chunker and oh sooo beautiful with all that dark hair. It was so nice to hold a baby again, and enjoy the newness. She wasn’t much up for the glam shots, and enjoyed being snuggly in her mama’s arms instead, but we did manage to capture her sweetness for a few beautiful memories for mom and dad. Enjoy Tara and Loren. You both make wonderful, loving parents!
