I know it seems like he was just born yesterday (doesn’t that sound so cliche?), but he is already 6 months old. OK, well…I’m a few days early. It’s 1 week away, but this session will have to do for his 6 month photos since I don’t get this quiet time with him very often. Sienna was napping, and he was wide awake, so what else to do but to shoot some photos! I always have something in mind, he is like pliable clay…He will do anything for me at this point! I’m lucky to get a smile out of Sienna, so I am definetely taking advantage of this time I have with Levi. Here he is!

And of course, here’s my beauty after she woke up from her nap. She’s going to be a real charmer this girl. Just like her mommy was. ;)

We are in the mushing spirit up here in Nome. The Iditarod dog mushers are steadily pulling into our city to complete their 1000 plus mile journey from Willow. We love mushing so much we even eat mush! Our boy has recently added rice cereal to his diet, and if he’s lucky he even has apple sauce or pears mixed in. When Sienna was a baby, pretty much everything from her first pooh, to her first words, steps and everything in between was documented. I realized in the last few days that my camera has missed out on a few of these firsts for Levi. Because of that I wanted to at least document this….his cute mushy face. I know he’ll thank me for this when he is a teenager!

And because I am a proud mama, I have to include this one too. I {heart} him!

Lance Mackey did it again! He is the now 3-time champion of the longest dog race in the world, the Iditarod! What a champ he and his dogs are and I can’t image how proud he must feel of his team to take him over 1000 miles across Alaska. WOW. Here he is pulling into Nome today, around 11:15 AM. The sun was shining high in the sky, the air was crisp, and there wasn’t any wind!! If that isn’t a miracle, I don’t know what is here in Nome. LOL. Enjoy. Oh yeah, and the first thing he wanted after finishing this 10 day race………a cheeseburger! I wonder who gets the privilege of grilling that up for him?! I hope its big and juicy.

Ever heard of it? Camera bling, that is. Well, I’ve got it! I just got my new camera strap today, and boy do I love it! It’s super comfortable, stylish, and even longer than the original strap so I can wear it on my hip instead of around my neck. Not to mention is has a quick release buckle in case I ever need to take it off in a hurry. I say it’s money ($38.75 to be exact) well spent. If you have a DSLR, and want one of these awesome straps for your camera, visit the PhatStraps shop on Etsy.com. They have tons of styles and I would recommend them 100%! Now I feel like the coolest mom on the block when I wear my camera with its new strap! =) They are so addicting, I might even have to get a couple more to change out with the seasons! Hmm, I’ll add that to my wish list along with the 3 lenses I soooo want! LOL.

P.S. See the image of the birdhouse below? That photo took 1st place in the Photography division of the 2009 Iditarod Art Show!! Goes to show that you don’t have to go far to produce beautiful images..this was taken outside my house, at a bone chilling -10 degrees Fahrenheit!

After the kind of weather we’ve had all winter, I am SO ready for some spring! I do love the snow, but the longer days and brighter warmer sun has really put spring in my spirit! I am really itching to get outside more, especially with the kids. With that in mind, it will be so exciting to hear the first birds chirp as they return for the summer. One of my favorite memories as a child was waking up to the happy birds singing outside my window, the bright sun streaming on my face. Hearing the birds every spring is like catching a whiff of a familiar scent and immediately bringing back a good memory. Come home soon little birdies! Your home awaits!

What better way to introduce my new blog other than showing off my beautiful daughter playing in the fresh snow we got! And boy did we ever get snow. In one day we got a record 15.5 inches! We had to shovel out our doorway four times during the day just so we wouldn’t get caught stuck inside! When the storm finally subsided, we went outside to find that our truck had completely been buried by the blowing snow. WHAT?! I didn’t think that was possible in one day, but it happened, and now I can say that I’ve seen it all. I know, I know…I’m talking about all of this and don’t have any pictures to prove it or even show you. LOL. SORRY! But, better yet, here she is again, her big beautiful eyes and beaming smile. Welcome to my new blog! Please visit often and leave some love!
