It was sweet to see her little fingers on the black and white keys, to hear her sing her best, and just watch her as she sat on that stool, with her feet so far above the foot petals. She was in her own little world and nothing else seemed to matter. I wished I could have taken that piano home just so I could hear her play for me everyday. She was great and I love her for everything that she is. xo

You Are Beautiful My Sweet, Sweet Song -Third Day

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
And I will sing again.

You are so good to me
You heal my broken heart
You are my Father in Heaven

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song

You ride upon the clouds
You lead me to the truth
You are the Spirit inside me

You are my strong melody, yeah
You are my dancing rhythm
You are my perfect rhyme
And I will sing of You forever

You poured out all Your blood
You died upon the cross
You are my Jesus who loves me
You are my Father in Heaven
You are the Spirit inside me
You are my Jesus who loves me

I just know he’s going to thank me for this one when he’s older. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want a photo of themselves like this! Well, no matter what he thinks, I’m his mom, and I think it’s just adorable! He just starting sitting up on his own the last couple of days and now its his favorite thing to do. He’s rediscovered his toes and tried eating those a few times while sitting up. Man, I wish I was that flexible! He’s also getting more mobile, so that means for me, I’m going to have to increase my shutter speed to capture nice sharp photos of him. No more 1/125 for him! He’s graduated to 1/250! Is it bad that I’m measuring his growth progression in shutter speeds? Here’s my little guy, getting so big already.

OK, not quite a girl anymore, but my dear mom has a heart of a child. Her birthday was yesterday and I wanted to post this then, but we were too busy “partying” till 11PM so I didn’t quite make it. :-) It is one of my all time favorite photos that I have ever taken…EVER! You are right, it is not technically perfect and the colors are a tad off in some areas and blown in others, but it has a lot of emotional attachment for me. #1, It’s my Mom and she is doing something she loves in a place she loves! #2, It is taken in a place that I love, just up the river from where we used to camp as a family, LOTS of memories! #3, The wind is blowing and I can almost smell the fresh air! #4, My niece dog is there too, we all love her. And #5, Look at those yummy salmon berries! Yup, this is a great photo. And I wanted to show the world my beautiful Mom on her special day. Happy Birthday Mom, I hope you have another wonderful year with health and happiness. {I.love.you}

My mom and I, along with my daughter had fun making this beautiful and delicious dessert for our local high school choir’s fundraising auction. (That was a mouthful!) We decided that this rich and decadent cheesecake would score big with the locals. (And we were right, this one took in $200 for the choir!) Hearing that was music to my ears! LOL. OK, cheesy joke….I know. Ummm, I just said cheesy. OK, I didn’t plan that one, but you have to admit, it was pretty funny! Cheesy….cheesecake…get it? OK, I’m done. Anyway, I intend on making this soon for our family, so we can actually eat a slice! And to add to my excitement I just HAD to post a picture to prove just how yummy it looked before we sent it on it’s way to it’s new home. After all, it was photographing the darn dessert that got me excited about this whole process! Here’s how we had the auctioneer introduce this beauty–

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

“Cheesecake is believed to have originated in Ancient Greece, as the first recorded mention of cheesecake was in 776 BC when it was served to the athletes of the first Olympic Games. This cheesecake includes all the ingredients necessary for a LEGENDARY dessert. Each 500 calorie slice consists of fresh creamed cheese, eggs, pure vanilla, and half and half blended with smooth white chocolate. The topping is a crown of sun-ripened red raspberry sauce, garnished with white chocolate curls; all on an OREO Cookie foundation. This creation was a three generational effort by Christina Perrigo, Esther Pederson, and Sienna Pederson.
We support our music program and thank Mr. Horner and all the music students for their contribution this school year.”

If you want the recipe for this, please comment on this post! Have a wonderful day!

Three and a half weeks after his arrival, I finally got to photograph this hansome little man! You may remember his mommy and daddy from one of my previous posts (A&J) He was so much fun to photograph, and what fun to go from start (in the womb) to finish (after birth). He gave his daddy quite a scare a couple of times during the “no-diaper” shots. Who would have known babies do that anyway?! LOL. But we got through and James you were a great sport, thank you! Some beautiful moments were captured in the end and that is what I wanted as a gift for you both.

The hubs grilled up some burgers the other night. It was delicious! I’m so happy grilling season is upon us. It has been a long and cold winter, and this is definetely just what the doctor ordered! Sienna looked out the window while dad was grilling and said “Look, it’s Daddy’s kitchen!” It was cute. I love to see the world through her eyes. It is really enlightening. I’m excited for summer grilling weather. I can just imagine Sienna running on our new lawn, and Levi crawling after her. Oh yeah, Nali will be there too, laying down in the shade, trying to get away from the mosquitos. :) Here’s a photo of our yummy dinner before we ate it!

Lately, I’ve been loving a lot of BW photos. But this one I just couldn’t choose, if it looked better in color or BW? So, I’m posting both….what the heck. It’s my blog, I can post what I want to! Aern’t his teeth cute? He really is sweet. (What? Crying? There’s no one crying in the background….it’s just your imagination…) A little later today I have the priveledge of photographing my friends’ 3 week old baby boy, so stay tuned for some sneak peaks of him in the near future. Hopefully you won’t be disappointed! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone. xo.

There’s something about daddy’s that are so special to a girl. I think every girl should have a daddy to look up to. I’m so thankful that Sienna has one that loves her, and loves doing things with her. One of Sienna’s favorite things to do with her daddy is ride in the snow vehicle he drives for his job. Here are a series of photos that capture her delight as she sits in his lap in the big “fire truck” (as she calls it).

easter-2009

I’ve been knitting a lot lately, and have been enjoying my time with the needles. I made Sienna a cute green hat, and yesterday I just finished a cowl, seen HERE. Although, it came out entirely too huge, I love it doubled up around my neck. Well, today I wanted to practice a little with my Canon 24-70mm 2.8 lens that I haven’t touched in a while and Sienna was willing to pose in her tutu. She sat down in the chair, grabbed her tutu and said, “Mom, I’m knitting!” It was both humerous and well…made me feel a little guilty at the same time. Have I been spending every waking moment knitting the last few days and left the kids to fend for themselves? Well, I wouldn’t go to extremes, but maybe I have been spending a little too much time knitting. What can I say? It’s addicting! And when you’ve finished making something with your own hands, it is also gratifying!

I forgot to mention this a few weeks ago (March 21 to be exact) that Levi got his first 2 teeth! Well, today they are finally big enough to be seen on camera…so I thought I’d post. He sometimes forgets that he has teeth and boy, does it hurt! No wonder he has been so fussy the last 6 months….LOL.
