beautiful maternity….Asaaluk | Esther Pederson Photography

December 28th, 2010

I always get excited when a mom-to-be asks me to shoot some maternity photos for them. I think they are my favorite sessions. There is something about a pregnant woman that is so beautiful. Even if they don’t feel very photogenic, especially at the later stages of pregnancy, they still have a glow that just radiates. Asaaluk is every bit as gorgeous. She not only is beautiful outside, she is just as beautiful inside as well. She is a mom to a bouncy and outgoing three year old girl, who was my little helper (thank you AwaLuk!) during the session. I know she’ll be a great helper when her baby sister arrives too. Can’t wait to meet her! Enjoy you guys, and blessings as you welcome another little angel into the world. What a wonderful way to ring in the New Year!

solstice surprise | Esther Pederson Photography

December 22nd, 2010

This was once in a lifetime. It was a clear, crisp and beautiful night in Nome, Alaska last night. We got to enjoy this and it was wonderful and magical. When the eclipse first started I thought it a bit eerie that the moon was disappearing right before my eyes, but as the night went on, and the moon started to glow a bright orange/red, those weird feelings went away and I enjoyed the show.

enjoying winter | Esther Pederson Photography

December 5th, 2010

We were able to drive out the road a ways last week to gather some beach wood for our wood stove. It was nice to be out in the country in the middle of the winter. I’m sure the roads are all snowed over now, since we had our big storm the last two days. I’m glad we got out one more time before then. Also since then, the ocean has finally frozen over. In some ways it makes me sad to say goodbye to the rolling waves, but on the other hand, I am excited to eat some fresh crab from our Norton Sound waters again! :)
