I’m looking through my folders of photos from the last year trying to find something inspiring to enter into our local art show next week. I found this photo of last summer and it just made me long for summer. I think both Larry and I are just waiting until we can hit the dirt roads again. We love to drive in the summer, and this is one place we pass through a lot on our way to camp. This is Solomon. It’s flat, it doesn’t have trees. But it is on the ocean, there are birds everywhere on the thousands of lakes and the land is rich with berries. It’s a little bit of paradise for a scant few here in Alaska.

WOW, I love this! The leading lines of the river and the amazing textures of the wood and grass totally drew me in… not to mention the STUNNING conversion! GORGEOUS!

This conversion is wonderful! The mirror-like sheen to the river and the echoing shade of the sky–the way the leading line of the river runs up to the sky–just poetry! Love all the texture in the foreground playing against the smoothness in the distance. Awesome shot, Esther!

I love the way it just goes on forever. Nice. One day I am going to make it to Alaska, especially seeing all your photos you make more beautiful.

Well said about paradise…when I was a kid, I always thought the hills behind our camp when on forever to infinity because everything around us was so flat. I love it there! Beautiful!
