I had fun with these two a few days ago. This is my friend Debbie, who you might remember from a few months back when I did her beautiful maternity photos. Well, I had the priviledge of capturing some memories of their new little one back in August, and now that they are planning a June wedding, I also snapped some engagement photos for their invitations! It’s fun to go through the whole process with a couple, and I’m so proud of them for their commitment to each other. After a chilly session we decided to get some drinks to warm up. I thought it was the perfect spot for some colorful shots as well. They might be my favorite from the session! I hope you like them Debbie and Lahka. I look forward to the big day in the next few months. It will be here before you know it.

In answer to your questions. No tripod today (I rarely use one) and no protective gear for my camera. If it’s lightly sprinkling when I’m out like it was today I just try and keep it dried off.
As to color, thank you! I always feel like I walk a fine line between manipulating the things I want to while keeping the image looking realistic. In that image some of the greens were almost a neon yellow/green so I had to selectively tone down a few areas, and the pink in the blooms was very very subtle so I played with that a bit as well.

I do not like tilt pictures, but have to admit I LOVE that last shot. Adorable couple – and good for them for making the move to commitment.

Esther, this is a beautiful series! I love the 2nd one, even though he’s looking away. The hand holding is such a connection there. I agree with Maria, also. I’m not a huge fan of tilts, but LOVE the last shot! They both have happiness in their eyes and that photo says a lot!
